Tata Motors launches Punch iCNG micro SUV starting at Rs 7.1 lakh

Tata Motors, the Indian automotive giant, has officially launched the compressed natural gas (CNG) variant of its micro SUV, the Punch, with prices ranging from Rs 7.1 lakh to Rs 9.68 lakh.

The new Punch iCNG comes equipped with Tata Motors' proprietary twin-cylinder technology, featuring enhanced safety measures, including a micro-switch that automatically turns off the car during refueling and thermal incident protection. The latter ensures that the CNG supply to the engine is cut off, releasing gas safely into the atmosphere, as stated in a press release issued by the company.

In addition to the safety features, the Punch iCNG boasts a range of other advanced functionalities to enhance the driving experience. These include a voice-assisted electric sunroof, automatic projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a 7-inch infotainment system provided by Harman. The infotainment system supports seamless Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, ensuring passengers can stay connected on the go. Other notable features include rain-sensing wipers and a height-adjustable driver's seat.

Tata Motors has also extended its twin-cylinder technology to its popular Tiago and Tigor models, introducing the Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG variants. The Tiago iCNG is priced between Rs 6.55 lakh and Rs 8.1 lakh, while the Tigor iCNG falls within the range of Rs 7.8 lakh to Rs 8.95 lakh.

Commenting on the launch, Vinay Pant, Head of Marketing at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, expressed his excitement about the new additions to the CNG lineup. "These introductions would make Tata Motors' CNG range even more appealing, holistic, and robust than ever before," he said.

With the rising demand for eco-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles in India, Tata Motors aims to meet the growing needs of environmentally conscious consumers.

Customers can now book the Punch iCNG, Tiago iCNG, and Tigor iCNG through Tata Motors' authorised dealerships across the country. The company expects these new CNG variants to be well-received by customers seeking economical and eco-friendly mobility options without compromising on performance and convenience.
